VAMX
HARDWARE · Recording hardware

One protocol, a whole pool of manufacturers.

VAMX designs a reference device and certifies devices from other manufacturers, drawing on the recording device supply chain in Shenzhen and Dongguan. Whichever factory a device comes from, its audio reaches the VAMX apps and AI transcription the same way. Change suppliers without changing your software.

Product line

From recorder cards to microphones, one AI recording platform.

The recorder card is VAMX's reference device; earbuds, omnidirectional conference mics and lavalier mics are ODM / OEM customizable categories. Every device speaks the same protocol, so recordings flow straight into VAMX transcription and meeting summaries.

Device tiers

Three kinds of devices, one experience.

Every device that connects to VAMX implements the same open protocol, so pairing, sync, live audio streaming and transcription work exactly the same. The difference is who designed it and how it was verified.

TIER 01

Reference device

Designed by VAMX and built by vetted partners in our manufacturing pool. Our own industrial design, our own tooling and a locked bill of materials. It's also the base device for OEM private label.

  • Full protocol support, including live audio streaming
  • Factory firmware with no preset third-party cloud endpoints
  • Long-term firmware maintenance commitment
TIER 02

Certified device

The manufacturer's own model that passes the conformance test suite, is natively supported in the VAMX apps and is listed in the VAMX device catalog.

  • Independently verified against the public test suite
  • No hidden telemetry, verified by packet capture rather than promises
  • Certification is void if the BOM is quietly changed
TIER 03

Community device

Devices the community has adapted to the protocol. They work in the apps but carry no VAMX endorsement or support guarantee.

  • Adapter code maintained in the open
  • Clearly labeled as uncertified in the app
  • A path for manufacturers to join the certification programme later
Reference device

VAMX Reference One

A card-format AI recorder card that attaches magnetically to the back of your phone or goes anywhere with you. Recordings are stored on the device, sync to the VAMX apps over Bluetooth or USB-C, and go to the cloud on demand for high-accuracy transcription and meeting summaries.

Core components

Every component can be chosen per project.

AI main chip illustration

AI main chip

Handles audio encoding, noise reduction and protocol communication; choose a solution by power and cost.

Battery illustration

Lithium battery

Ultra-thin pouch cells plus a low-power design deliver long continuous recording.

eMMC storage chip illustration

eMMC storage

On-board storage keeps recordings safe offline and syncs them to the app when connected.

MEMS microphone illustration

MEMS microphones

High-SNR MEMS microphones can form an array for better far-field and multi-speaker pickup.

Bluetooth module illustration

Bluetooth module

BLE 5 handles device control and live audio streaming, with an RF-tuned antenna layout.

USB-C connector and magnetic ring illustration

USB-C & magnet

USB-C for charging and fast recording export; the magnetic ring keeps the device firmly on your phone.

Hardware + software

Record it, and it becomes text.

The hardware just captures great audio; VAMX software takes over from sync and transcription to finished meeting minutes.

STEP 01

Pair any certified device

The VAMX apps discover devices over Bluetooth, read the file index and receive live audio streams. Devices from different manufacturers behave identically.

STEP 02

Your audio stays on your own devices

Recordings sync to your local library, via resumable Bluetooth transfer or bulk copy over USB-C. Nothing is uploaded unless you send it.

STEP 03

AI transcription & summaries

Send recordings to VAMX transcription: 90+ languages, speaker identification and meeting summaries, with export to TXT / PDF / WORD / SRT.

For manufacturers · Certification programme

You build the hardware. VAMX handles the software.

Many recording device factories buy an app and transcription backend from a platform vendor, then compete on price with rivals using the very same solution. With VAMX certification, you keep your hardware margin, your devices ship with the app and AI transcription users actually want, and you no longer rent the software layer.

We're now selecting reference device manufacturing partners and certification partners in Shenzhen and Dongguan.

01Pass the conformance test suiteThe tests are public: you self-test first, then we verify.
02No hidden reporting in firmwareWe packet-capture every submission. This one is non-negotiable.
03Declare and freeze your BOMQuietly swapping components breaks protocol behavior and voids certification.
04Keep certification currentAnnual retesting against the latest protocol version.
05Hold the declared compliance certificatesCE, FCC, SRRC, UN38.3 and others, depending on the target market.
